Peergangai Bath with Kodo Millet:
Ingredients:
-Millet or rice - 1 cup (soak for min 20mins)
-Ridge gourd- 1 medium (peeled and cut into medium cubes)
-Boiled channa (optional)- 1/4cup
We can use any boiled sundal variety or can soak 1/4 cup of red lentil or moongdhal along with rice. In that case reduce the rice to 3/4cup
-Onion -1 medium
-Tomatoes- 2 medium
-Ginger garlic-1tsp
-Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
-Jeera powder- 1 tsp
-Water- 1cup
-Oil- 2Tbsp
-Ghee 1tbsp
-cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, Bay leaf- 1-2 pods each
-In a small pressure pan pour oil
-Add the whole spices followed by ginger garlic
-Add onions and then Tomatoes
-Add soaked rice n dha
-Add ridge gourd on the top along with salt
-If u have boiled channa then add that as well
-Pour 3/4th cup of water from the sides.
-Close the cooker lid, put on the weight, cook on high for 2 whistles.
-Switch off the stove and add ghee and mix it well and Serve hot.
