Veg Millet Nonbu Kanji:
Little millet 2/3 cup
Moong dal 1/3 cup
Channa dal 2 tbsp
Onion 1
Tomato 1
Mint and Coriander leaves
Ginger garlic crushed or paste 1 tbsp
Green chilli 1
Carrot 1 small
Potato 1 small size
Cauli flower 4 to 5 florets
Mushroom Chopped fine half cup
Capsicum half
Chilli powder 1/4 tbsp
Coriander powder 1/4 tbsp
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
Pepper 1 tsp
Garam. Masala 1 tsp
In the pressure pan add 2 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp ghee
Add the chipped onions, green chilli, mint and Coriander leaves one by one and saute.
Once onion turns brown add ginger garlic, add Chopped tomato and saute well.
Add the Chopped veggies, all masala and saute.
Add the washed millet + dal.
Add 5 cups Of water and salt as required.
Close the pressure pan lid.
After 2 sounds, keep the flame in medium flame for 5 to 7 min and switch off.
Note
1. Can replace little millet with kodo, foxtail or barnyard millet.
2. Reduce the water to 4 cups to get in pongal Consistency which tastes well too.
